Stratfor is a strategic forecasting and advisory platform utilizing deep geopolitical expertise at the intersection of current world events.
OVERVIEW
Rebrand & Create New Revenue Streams
An extensive year long engagement incorporating many different people and disciplines to reorganize, rebrand, and develop new revenue streams for Stratfor, a strategic intelligence and forecasting consultancy, with a long history. The brand was fully redesigned along with the emergence of a suite of new products in support of the core product, rebranded Worldview. An elegant, publication-based design for long-form reading was implemented with improved site architecture, functionality and methods for navigating connected content.
A new product, Threat Lens, was designed and built as a security threat assessment tool with a focus on disseminating constantly changing and complex information. Businesses and industries need the latest information to assess their interests and investments in both infrastructure and people, around the world. The new software was unveiled at the ASIS International Conference in 2016 and won the award for Best New Security Software. ASIS, American Society for Industrial Security, is now the Global Security Exchange (GSX) Conference.

MY CONTRIBUTION
Provided strategy and expertise in areas of web and mobile product design, UI/UX, brand-related visual design, marketing, and publication design.
I worked on early branding concepts alongside the Creative Director (my concepts were not chosen, but that’s okay—you can’t win ’em all!). Once the new wordmark was selected, I created a scalable color system which would encompass the full suite of future products. I created the final brand style guidelines which included redesigned cover templates for Stratfor’s paid reports, to align with new branding efforts.
Working closely with our Product & Strategy Director and Development Director, we tackled the new Threat Lens product to be unveiled at the ASIS Conference later in the year. As the sole visual/product designer, I created user flows and visual designs for hand-off to our development team. I worked on concepting and visualizing interactive mapping tools and a threat scale system, a detailed and complex custom notification builder using natural language forms, onboarding flows, a user and team management admin as well as all other aspects of the platform.
After Threat Lens was launched, we immediately started working on Worldview, reimagining Stratfor’s core product and subscription-based revenue generator, as the foundation for all other future products. I designed a new responsive marketing site for Stratfor, to showcase their current offerings—Worldview, Threat Lens, and their Advisory Services—with a templated, modular style that would easily scale for future products.
